I picked up this book after getting bored with the JP Beaumont series and after reading "Paradise Lost" (I figured I ought to go back and start at the beginning of the series). I cried when Joanna cried, I was taut with suspense over what would happen next. In fact, I have to re-read it every so often because I need to re-experience it; it is one of my favorites in the series. Yes Joanna is implausibly perfect in a lot of ways. This is he 2nd Joanna Brady book i've read and ound it much better than a recent one in the series that i previously read. This one honestly had me in suspense especially with the Angie Kellog subplot.The two Jance books that I previously read seemed to concentrate much more on woman issues than on the mystery and suspense elements, but not so with this one.
